PRIESTLEY PLAY
TRIBUTE TO MARIE NEY. “Dangerous Corner” is meeting with very warm approval at the Belfast Opera House, states a London message. Admirers of J. B. Priestley look upon this play ‘as one of the best examples of his dramatic work. The “Belfast Telegraph” comments of the opening night: “The fact that Marie Ney. the celebrated stage star, is in (he cast in her original role, adds greatly to (he interest of the season. The play, though lacking somewhat in action, held the audience in a spell from start to finish. All through the dialogue moved with an emphasis so arresting that one was jealous of every line. The acting was consistently good. “Miss Marie Ney was brilliant all through. What impressed most about the performance of this gifted actress was her easy and polished diction and the very natural way she handled her voice crescendos. . . . Responding to an ovation at the conclusion of the performance, Miss Ney made a brief speech.” New Zealanders cannot but be interested to follow (he career of this very fine actress.
