SWIMMING. SORENSEN CUP CONTESTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The first event of two decided each year for a cup donated to the Carterton Swimming Club for the best swimmer over two distances, was decided last evening when the 220 yards handicap was got off. Six competitors started and after a good race A. Pinfold, from the 18 seconds marks, won comfortably from Gardiner (26secs.), with Rex Lawrence (30secs.), third. Three of the swimmers retired after doing 100 yards. The time for the race was 3min. 2 3-ssecs. The 440 yards event will be decided on Thursday evening. Pinfold is the present holder of the cup. BOWLING. CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS RINK. The champion of champions rink games under the jurisdiction of the Wairarapa Bowling Centre will be played on the Carterton green on Saturday next. ’ At the weekend five rinks of Eketahuna bowlers will pay a visit to the Carterton green to meet a similar number of rinks 1 of the Carterton Club. TENNIS. CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS. The final game in the ladies’ senior championship was played on the Carterton bowling green courts on Monday evening between Mrs W. M. Worsfold and Miss B. Peters and ended favour of Mrs Worsfold, 6/1, 6/0. The men’s senior championship was won by L. D. Keedwell, who beat J. Brown, 6/1, 6/0. In the combined handicap doubles, I. A. Bond and Miss Crawley beat J. Dwane and Mrs L. D. Keedwell, 6/4, 6/4. The finals in the men’s junior championship, ladies’ junior championship, men’s handicap singles, ladies handicap singles; men’s handicap doubles and ladies’ handicap doubles are still to be played.

St. Patrick's Concert. The public are reminded of the annual concert and dance in aid of St. Mary’s Church, • Carterton, to be held in the King’s Theatre, Carterton, tonight. An excellent programme of vocal and other items will be provided.
