AUSTRALIAN MILITIA
REPORT TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED. (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Inspector-General of the Australian Military Forces, LieutenantGeneral Squires, in a report to the Federal Government, emphasises the importance of establishing the militia on a sound formation in order that it could'meet a major form of aggression.
Other recommendations which have been approved by the Federal Government include lower retiring ages for officers and a supplementary list to which officers can be transferred at a special rate of pay.
