TOUR OF INSPECTION

COUNTY COUNCILLORS VISIT ROAD WORKS. Members of the Masterton County Council and of the executive staff visited Wellington on Monday to inspect the road works in the Ngahauranga Gorge. All councillors except Councillor H. H. Mawley made the trip. In the morning the party visited a crushing plant on the Hutt River and later were entertained at morning tea by Mr G. H. Mackley, General Manager' of railways, when an opportunity was taken to inspect the railway offices.

The visitors were much impressed with the magnitude of the road work being carried out in the Ngahauranga Gorge and with the wonderful capabilities of modern machinery.
