ST CUTHBERT'S CHURCH. ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The fortieth anniversary celebrations of the" St Cuthbert’s Church, Eketahuna, will be observed on Sunday and Monday, March 19 and 20. The Rev G. Watson, vicar of Otaki, will be the celebrant at the 11 o’clock service on the Sunday morning. In the unavoidable absence of Bishop Holland, the vicar-general, Archdeacon W.'Bullock, will be the preacher at the thanksgiving service at 7.30" p.m. On the Monday there will be a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 9 a.m. At 6.30 p.m. a banquet arranged by the young people will be held in the church hall, in which the parishioners from the whole district are invited to participate, together with those who have been associated with the church in the past. A special table will be provided for the older pioneers of the church. The programme for the day will conclude with a fellowship dance. Obituary. The death occurred at Opiki on Saturday of Mrs John Gaskin, formerly of Eketahuna, at the age of 69 years. Farewell Gathering. Mesdames F. C. Turner, M. R. Herbert and W. Anderson were hostesses at a farewell gathering tendered to Mrs E. H. W. Kenny, who will shortly leave Eketahuna for Waverley to which place her husband has been transferred as manager of the Bank of New South Wales. A very enjoyable time was spent, competitions being won by Mrs H. Higginson and Miss A. Simmers. Mrs Anderson voiced the regret of Mrs Kenny’s friends that she was leaving Eketahuna and hoped on their behalf that she, her husband and family circle, would find health and happiness in their new home and that she would often come back- on visits to Eketahuna—she would have many calling in to see her at Waverley. Musical honours were accorded Mrs Kenny and her mother, Mrs Brabant, who was also present. Plunket Society Meeting. At the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna sub-Branch of the Plunket Society there were present: Mesdames Albrechtsen (in the chair), Ives, Gray, George and the secretary, Mrs A. S. Carter. The nurse’s report was as follows: — Number of babies under supervision, 70; older children, 44; new cases for the month, 3; visits of adults to office, 52; babies, 46; children, 1; total, 99; visits to homes, 20; visits to district, 4.
