FIRE BRIGADE CONTESTS

DEMONSTRATION AT WANGANUI. CHAMPIONSHIP TO CARTERTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, March 12. The weather was showery yesterday for the final events of the annual demonstrations of the United Fire Brigades’ Association of New Zealand. As a result of the week’s competitions Carterton proved the most successful brigade, taking the largest share of the prize money, in addition to winning the championship and the high-pressure and, manual shields. Petone was the next most successful brigade and was runner-up for all.three shields. Points for the shields are: —
