GREYTOWN

NINE STATE HOUSES TO BE ERECTED. LOCAL FIRM SECURES CONTRACT. (“Times-Age” Special.) • A contract has been let for the erection of nine State houses in ■ Greytown. The contract has been secured by Messrs H. Trotman and Son. It is understood that Messrs Trotman and Son intend to commence the construction of the houses within a week or two. Mr Ben Roberts, M.P., said: “The Government is anxious that house construction should be accelerated all over the country, and it is up to the local contractors to obtain their share of the work. Carterton still needs more houses if the applications I have received are any criterion, and the same thing applies no doubt to other towns. I shall be very pleased to help / local contractors in any way I can to obtain the contracts, and I am quite willing to put them in touch with the Housing Department in Wellington or help in any way possible.” Plunket Society.
