Mr Amki announced in the Diet plans whereby Japan it was hoped would be invulnerable in three years against economic sanctions. It is expected by 1942 to have increases over 1938-39 ranging up to 100 per cent. Mr Amki predicted that Japan, Manchukuo and China would be selfsustaining in three years time in iron, steel, coal, light metals, zinc, fertiliser, rolling stock, automobiles and shipping.
