Though the fields were on the small side the racing was entertaining on the opening day of the Taranaki Jockey Club’s autumn meeting, which was held in overcast but warm weather. The track was in excellent condition. The totalisator handled £18,421, an increase of £4954 on last year’s turnover. Results: — Waitara Hurdles, l|m and 100yds: 4/5 Disturbed, 9.0 (J.
