EKETAHUNA SALE
WRIGHT, STEPHENSON & CO LTD. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co Ltd report:—A good yarding of sheep came forward at our Eketahuna sale yesterday and was offered to a good attendance of buyers. Prices remained about the same as those ruling for previous sales although aged ewes were in good demand. We report a total clearance under the hammer at the following prices:—s-yr ewes, 9s to, 12s; 2-th ewes to 20s; small 2-th ewes to IQs 3d; ewe lambs to 15s; small ewe lambs to 7s 3d; wr lambs-to 11s; small wr lambs to 5s 8d; S.D. rams, 2gns to Signs. N.Z. LOAN & MERCANTILE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co Ltd report:—A fair yarding of all classes of sheep came forward, and we submitted 800 odd head tp a good attendance of buyers from Masterton and local districts. The pi ices generally showed an increase as com* pared with last week's values and bidding throughout was free. Top price for older sorts of ewes was secured for a pen of 4 and 5-yr eyes a/c Mr F. W. Parry. This line which comes annually to these yards always attracts good competition. Top lambs were not available but medium sorts and ewe lambs showed a definite improvement on late rates. We quote ’sales as follow^:—A/c F. W. Parry, 4 and 5-yr ewes, 16s 9d; a/c M. Godinagh, do, 12s 9d, 2-th ewes at 17s 6d; a/c other vendors: Med sh wr lambs, 10s Id, small do, 9s 2d. 2 and 4-th ewes, 15s 6d to 225, woolly ewes lambs, 14s 2d, 15s, 2-th wethers, 13s 7d, f and f 2-th do, 16s Id, small sh wr lambs, 7s 6d, cull s.m. ewes, 7s 6d. Rams: 1-sh Romney rams, 3gns, 2} gns, 2gns to IJgns; 1-sh S.D. rams, 3 gns, 21gns, 21gns to lAgns; F.M. do, Ign to 11, gns.
