WEDDING

MYERS—SAVAGE. The wedding took place recently at St. Patrick’s Church, Masterton, of Winifrede Cecelia, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Savage, “Innisfallen,” Solway, Masterton, and William Thomas, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. Myers, Kilbirnie, Wellington. The Rev Father Moore celebrated Nuptial Mass, assisted by Rev. Father Dillon and the Rev Father Griffin, of Kilbirnie. The pupils of St. Bride’s Convent sang the Mass music. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride, with pink and blue hydrangeas. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was gowned in an ivory lace frock over satin, cut on classical lines with heart-shaped neck line, and sleeves coming to a point over the hand. The skirt hung in graceful folds and fell to form a circular train. The beautiful veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of cream roses and maidenhair fern, the bride was attended by two bridesiriaids, Miss Margaret Savage, sister of the bride (chief) and Miss Eileen Myers, sister of the bridegroom. They were frbcked alike in pink floral sheer georgette, trirnmed with cherry red velvet ribbon. They wore pink crinoline hats to match and carried shower bouquets of pink roses and rnaidenhair fern. • The best man was Mr Maurke Myers, brother of the bridegroom, and Mr Edward Savage was groomsman. A reception was afterwards held at the Hotel Midland, where Miss Anne Savage, sister* of the bride, received the guests, assisted by Mrs W. Myers, mother of the bridegroom. Miss Savage wore a striped floral crepe-de-chine frock, over which she wore a silver fox fur. Mrs Myers was attired in a navy blue pin-striped tailored costume. She also wore a fox fur. Their posies consisted of French marigolds, tiger lilies and leaves to tone. Many messages of good wishes and telegrams of congratulations were received. Friends and relatives were present from Stratford, Christchurch, Wellington, Hastings, Sydney, Auckland and Hawera. , Later in the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs Myers left by car on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a French grey tailored costume with matching cyclamen accessories. Mr and Mrs Myers will reside at Island Bay, Wellington.
