CHILDREN IN WAR
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS BEING TAKEN. The safety of children is receiving special attention in the drawing up of air raid precautions in Great Britain and plans are being prepared for evacuating them from city areas. “To put the matter in human instead of official language,” states the Birmingham Post, “fathers and' mothers will be less distracted from their duty at the ‘industrial front’ if they know that their children are, as far as possible, out of harm’s way. Modern warfare brings women as well as men into the front lino of national defence. Thank Heaven, there is still no need of children there. To some people- the best service they can give their country in time of war will be the care of children whose homes are in places of danger. It is most important that this moral obligation should be appreciated:’''
