MAURICEVILLE CLUB’S FINE GATHERING KEEN CONTESTS ON SATURDAY. FULL LIST OF AWARDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Mauriceville District Sports Club held one of its most successful meetings in the past thirty years on Saturday. The weather was beautifully fine'and the gathering attracted a very large attendance. A high standard of performance was set throughout, particularly in the horse events. Mr J. Robertson, M.P., presented the club cup for the open jump to B. McGuinness, who won the trophy outright. Mr H. N. McGuinness in acknowledging Mr Robertson’s remarks said that he intended, on behalf of the family, to present another cup to replace the one his son had won. It was stated, however, that Mr S. Dawson had offered to donate a cup for the open jump. Mr H. Bennett, president of the club, thanked the competitors and all others who had contributed towards the success of the 'meeting. The Mauriceville hall was crowded to the doors on Saturday night when the District Sports Club held a dance as a wind-up to one of the most successful meetings it has ever held.
