EARLY MORNING INTRUDER. EXPERIENCE OF CAMP ROAD RESIDENT. (“Times-Age” Special.) To be awakened at about 3 o’clock in the morning to find a man at your bedside, muttering the word “Arctic King,” was the experience of Mr Tom Bourne, a bachelor residing in Camp Road, about a mile from Featherston. After a brief struggle Mr Browne succeeded in getting the visitor outside. Mr Bourne received a bad cut on his mouth. The visitor drove off in a powerful car, without lights, and it was not possible to obtain the car number. Mr Bourne called a neighbour and after a while the man returned but on seeing the two of them he drove away again. CROQUET. HAUNUI CLUB GAMES. The! A championship played by members of the Haunui Croquet Club was won by Mrs Watson, who defeated Miss Nix in the final, which ran into three games. Cook, who have been' residents in Featherston for the past few years, are leaving for Wellington, where Mr Cook has taken over a business. Mrs Saxton;, New Plymouth, is visiting Featherston and is staying with her daughter, Mrs H. R. Bloxam. TENNIS. FEATHERSTON BEAT PININOA. A return match played between the Featherston and Pirinoa tennis clubs during the weekend resulted in a win for> Featherston by two sets and 23 games. An exhibition match played between M. Ferkins and Wehipeihana resulted in a win for the former by 9 games to 3. M. Ferkins and Brooks defeated Wehipeihana and Lawson, 6/5.
