The Congress leader Chanbra Bose has cabled Mr Chamberlain as follows: —“On behalf of the Indian people we emphatically protest against Britain’s recognition of General Franco as being a betrayal of the legally-con-situted Republican Government. The Government of India considers that the recognition violates international law and morality.” SALUTE BY WARSHIPS. PALMA (Majorca), March 5. HMS Devonshire anchored in the bay'today and fired a salute of 21 guns in honour of the British recognition of General Franco. The shore batteries replied.
