For holding up - and robbing a motorist of a sum equivalent to 10s, Arthur Gose, aged 19, was beheaded, this making the seventh execution for motor banditry since the decree against the offence last June. Authorities defend the severity on the ground that they are making the roads safe for Germans and foreigners.
