WRIGHT. STEPHENSON & CO., LTD. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: A good entry of all classes of stock was submitted to the usual attendance at Carterton yesterday. Sheep met with a dull sale and prices were no better than those ruling at recent sales. Pigs sold at late rates. Springing heifers and cows were easier, while fat and store cows were much below last week’s prices. Following are our realisations: — Sheep: Fat ewes, to 8s 3d; fat lambs, 19s Id to 20s 3d; fat b.f’s., to 15s; b.f. lambs, Us 8d to 16s. 6d; medium b.f. lambs, 8s 6d, Bs. 10d, 9s Id. 10s to 10s 3d; small lambs, 4s 3d, 5s to 5s 6d; shorn wr lambs, Bs, 8s 7d, 9s 4d, 9s 6d to 10s 6d; ewe lambs, to 15s 2d; 6-year ewes, to 12s; S.M. ewes, 7s, 9s 3d to 10s 8d; S.D. rams. ligns to £3 3s; Rom rams, to £1 Is.
Cattle: Spg heifers, £5 10s to £7 15s; spg cows, to £9; fat cows, £4 5s to £5 10s; forward cows, £2 18s to £3 16s; store cows, £2 to £2 15s; bulls, £2 5s to £B.
Pigs: Weaners (good.), 9s to 12s; weaners (medium), 5s 6d to 7s 6d; weaners (small), 4s to ss; slips, 14s 6d to 18s; store pigs, 19s to 235; light porkers, 25s to 325; porkers, 35s to £2 6s 6d; choppers, 30s to £3.
