LINES UP TO DATE
(Contributed). Getting a new outfit, or thinking of it? Then you will want to know what is new in the foundation line. There is nothing like a new frock to convince you that you “realty must get new corsets.” And then, after all your precious stringency, off ydu go to the fitters. You are thrilled with your new silhouette; when you emerge again you feel inches slimmer. And every time you get into that new outfit upon which you expended such loving thought, you are frightfully peeved that you had it made to fit your castoff figure, instead of this surprising new one. So do—before you think about any new clothes —set yourself up with at least one of this year’s foundations. For they are quite, quite different this year—as different as the dress fashions themselves. You are smoothed and flattened from low on the hips to high up under the bosom. The waist is slim and elongated,'and you are hipless as a seal. Your torso is no longer in two parts—above the waistline and below, in fact, there is no waist line at all—your waist is a whole area, from bosom to hips. The easiest way to achieve this is by wearing one of the year’s controlettes, as fashion demands that we shall. It is, quite naturally, a controlette year —for a controlette is z the simplest way of avoiding a break in the middle of the figure. * All the new foundations are designed for the new elongated waistline and the nice new distribution of curves. If you are simply not the one-piece type of figure (and only a few difficult figures are not), then you will have to see that you get one of the new high-in-front corsets, and a brassiere with a deep diaphragm band fastening well down over it, to care of any displaced flesh about the waistline.
