CHILLED BEEF CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Hawke's Bay chilled beef championship at nhe Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Autumn Show, which is to take place on Saturday, March 25, is creating great interest among growers of chillers, and the committee is sparing no effort to make the competition of educational value. A weigh-bridge has been installed and after the animals have been judged on the grounds, the live weight will be displayed on the pens. In addition to the judgment in the pens the animals will be killed at the Tomoana Works, and the carcases judged on the hooks.and will then be shipped to London for display and further judgment. Entries close on March 9. Copies of Schedule may be obtained from the Secretary, P.O. Box 145, Napier.
