ANNUAL SCHOOL SPORTS. PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Mauriceville East School held its annual sports on Saturday last in glorious weather. The gathering was a decided success. E. Bray was successful in winning the school championship in a very close finish. At the end of the competitions the school merit prizes for the past year were presented to the scholars, also the agricultural diploma certificates won by the different pupils. Mr J. Milner, friends and members of the Croquet Club assembled to bid farewell to Mrs K. T. Leys. Competitions and musical items were played and afternoon tea was served. Mrs H. Freeman asked Mrs Leys to accept a beautiful cake dish. Mrs Leys suitably replied. Plunket Meeting. The Mauriceville sub-branch of the Plunket Society held a meeting in the East Hall yesterday afternoon. Mrs E. Dagg presided over a good attendance. It was decided that the nurse be written to and asked to try and enrol as many members as she could. A garden party and sale of work is to be held at Mrs C. Hodgin’s residence, Opaki, on March 18, all members to canvass and collect articles for l various stalls. This is for a worthy cause and all those who have had the services of the nurses are asked to assist in some way. Personal. The friends of Mrs A. Hood, Mau- , riceville West, will regret to hear she has had to enter the Masterton Public Hospital. ,
