The “Sydney Morning Herald” says it is reliably reported that the Federal Government, at its series of meetings in Melbourne, decided to abandon the National Insurance scheme, and to introduce legislation to repeal the National Insurance Act. It is understood that the decision was not unanimous, but that Ministers who opposed the repeal will abide by the will of the majority.
