WEDDING

TAYLOR—HODGETTS. The marriage took place recently at Knox Church, Masterton, of Elva. only daughter of Mrs Hodgetts and the late Mr T. Hodgetts, of Westport, and Roy, younger son of Mr and Mrs W. Taylor, of Masterton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev John Davie. Mr C. W. Kerry presided at the organ. The church was tastefully decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride. . / The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr J. Burns, wore a gown of ivory satin cut on classical lines, ‘a medici collar, a spray of orange blossom finishing the neckline. A train fell under a veil of embroidered net, which was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom buds. She carried a bouquet of cream gladioli and maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Burns, cousin of the bride (chief), and Miss Jessie Thornton, who wore dainty frocks of mauve and apple-green net over taffeta, the skirts being bguffant and trimmed at the hems with bands of ribbon. Small taffeta collars added interest to the necklines. Sprays of flowers of pink topings to match their bouquets completed their ensembles. Attending the bridegroom was Milan Percy as best man, and Mr W. Hodgetts, brother of the bride, was groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with two lucky horse-shoes by little Janet Burns and Rex Birkett. She also received a sprig of white heather. After the ceremony a reception and dance was held in the Epiphany Hall where the many guests were received by Mrs Hodgetts, assisted by Mrs Taylor, the former wearing a smart model frock in navy and white with hat and accessories to tone. Mrs Taylor chose a frock of navy floral ensemble. The bride wore a travelling frock of navy with hat and accessories to tone, and carried a fur, the gift of the bridegroom. The future home of Mr and Mrs R. Taylor will be in Masterton.
