STAFF PICNIC

WAIRARAPA STEAM LAUNDRY. Members of the staff of the Wairarapa Steam Laundry held their annual picnic at Day’s Bay on Saturday. A stop was made at Maori Bank for morning tea. Lunch and afternoon tea were enjoyed at the Boat House Tea Gardens, Day’s Bay. Swimming, boating, miniature golf and exploring the beautiful bush passed the time all too quickly. Sports were also held in the afternoon: prize winners being Miss O. Mills, Mr J. McAliece, Mrs Whitakers, Miss A. Mills and Mr J. Knowles, After attending the pictures in Wellington in the evening, and having supper, the party left Wellington at 11 o’clock on the return journey. The social committee is to be complimented on arranging such a wonderful outing.
