King, very old and respected residents of Carterton, received the sad news of the death of their daughter Ivy (Mrs Frank Stead) which took place in the Wellington Hospital, after ian illness lasting for several weeks. The late Mrs Stead was well-known in Carterton and the sympathy of a large circle of friends will be extended to her bereaved husband and parents. Personal. Mr L. D. Keedwell, who has been on the staff of the Carterton District High School Cor the past three and at half years, has received notice that his application for transfer to Hawera has been accepted by the Wellington Board, and he will leave Carterton to take up his new duties in May next. Prior to joining the Carterton School, Mr. Keedwell was for- three or four years in charge of the Ahiaruhe School, during which period he joined up with the Carterton Tennis Club, carrying off the championship and retaining that honour practically ever since. Mrs. Keedwell also has been a very valuable member of the Tennis Club, and is the best lady player in the Wairarapa. Together with her husband she plays in the Wairarapa representative team. Their departure from Carterton will be very much regretted.
