JAPAN’S APOLOGY
BOMBING OF HONG KONG TERRITORY NUMBER OF ASSURANCES OFFERED. UNDER CONSIDERATION IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, February 24. The British Ambassador in. Tokio (Sir Robert Craigie) has reported that the Japanese apology for the bombing of Hong Kong territory is accompanied by a number of assurances dealing with such matters as compensation ana the punishment of those responsible. These, together with the lines of a possible settlement of the incident, are now under consideration by the British Government.
