Badminton Hall
Badminton promises to receive an impetus in Masterton upon the completion of the fine hall now being built for the Knox Sunday School. The lack of a suitable hall for badminton has been a handicap in the development of the game here. To further the Keep Fit Campaign, St Matthew’s Badminton Club, winners of the B grade inter-club competition, has decided to reduce the subscription to all new members joining this season. Historical Prints. Photographs, plans, etchings. and prints of Lyttelton Harbour from the early days decorate the office of the Harbour Board’s secretary (Mr C. H. Clibborn). From time to time prints are offered to the board by Canterbury residents, and they are welcomed by the officers. An offer of an old print has been received this week from the Belford Mills, Ltd., Timaru, and the engraving will probably soon hang on the wall of the office. Parking Signs. Suggestions made by motorists who offend against the parking regulations that the signs, especially that marked “P.N.P..” are confusing were the subject of comment by the Chief Traffic Inspector at Christchurch (Mr J. Bruorton). He said that all motorists had been sent copies of the booklet on traffic regulations issued by the Transport Department and containing a description of the signs used in the city. The signs “P.N.P.” meant that a car could not stop in the marked area for longer than five minutes.
