GOOD CLEARANCE OF WOOL AT WANGANUI RECENT PRICES MAINTAINED. BRADFORD AND GERMAN BUYERS ACTIVE. (By Te l egraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, February 24. A total of 24,700 bales was offered and 98 per cent of the catalogue was sold in an animated sale that went with a swing from start to finish, states the Wanganui woolbrokers’ official report on the second Wanganui wool sale of the present season, held in the Opera House today. The wool was submitted to a full and representative bench of buyers, with every section of the trade operating freely. Bradford and German buyers were predominant, with France lending good support; America and Japan were also represented. Prices were fully up to recent sales in other centres. Compared with the previous Wanganui sale, fine and super crossbred wools were in sellers' favour; medium and inferior qualities were : ',d to 3d better and in some cases more: pieces, bellies and locks were Id better; crutchings were firm to id better; and lambs’ wool was :;d to Id up.
