A poll of ratepayers taken in Dunedin yesterday resulted in approval being given to the proposals of the city council to raise £lOO.OOO for public works in the city and £50.000 for special water works. Voting on the public works loan was: For. 4007, against, 3279. On the waterworks propect the voting was: For, 4124: against 3166. Only 7350 voted out of a roll of 21,990 ratepayers.
