MASTERTON EWE FAIR
ALMOST TOTAL CLEARANCE EFFECTED. STRONG COMPETITION EVIDENT. The Wairarapa Live Stock Auctioneering Association report: We held our second annual ewe fair at the Masterton Yards yesterday, when 26,500 breeding ewes were penned to a large and representative gathering of local farmers. Buyers were present also from the Manawatu, Dannevirke and .Wanganui Districts, and from the Waikato. The quality of the sheep generally speaking was right up to standard. In the offering some 7,000 2 and 4-th ewes commanded strong competition throughout. The 4-yr old ewes also met with keen demand, while in the 5-year-old section the main lines of well known station drafts commanded at times very spirited competition.
