LOW FLYING ’PLANES
A COUNCILLOR’S COMPLAINT. MAYORS. AND OTHERS DISSENT. A complaint regarding ,the alleged nuisance caused by aeroplanes flying over Masterton al a low altitude was made al. last, night’s meeting of the Borough Council by Councillor R. Russell. Councillor Russell said that aeroplanes flying at a low altitude, with their exhausts wide open .were an absolute nuisance lo sick people. There’ was unlimited space away from the town for the pilots to practise in. “Wo have given the Aero Club £100,” he added, “to make a nuisance of themselves to us.” He moved that the council write lo the Aero Club asking that pilots refrain from flying over the town with exhausts wide open. Councillor G. W .Morice: "If the trainees fly under 2000 feet they, are grounded for three months. I think the pilots conduct themselves very well indeed." The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan: "The more 1 heai- the mon 1 I like them. We should do everything we can to encourage them. The m<ye the merrier." Councillor f A., D. Low: "You have a feeling of sal’htjV //The motion 'lapsed for want of a second er. .
