DRUIDS’ LODGE
BUSINESS AT QUARTERLY MEETING. NO PICNIC TO BE HELD THIS YEAR. The quarterly meeting of the Masterton Druids’ Lodge was held in the Foresters’ Hall last night, the A.D., Bro F. Gray, presiding over a good attendance of brethren. A vote of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Bros A. F. E. Amoore and C. A. Ewington, members standing in silence. A clearance was granted to a Brother to Stratford Lodge. The minutes of lhe Grand Lodge Executive meeting held on January 20 were received by the Lodge. These included the results of the election of District President.. Several members notified the secretary that they would be present at Totara Lodge on Monday for the installation of the District President. '■ It was decided to forward a remit to the Dominion Friendly Societies’ Council in connection with the Health Security proposals. . Bro G. Milne reported on recent meetings of the Hospital Association. Bro F. Pickering reported on the monthly meeting of the U.F.S. Dispensary and stated that the annual meeting would be held on March 14. Owing to the lack of interest or enthusiasm shown by the majority of the members to the special circulars regarding the picnic, the officers and members present decided to abandon the picnic this year. Eleven brethren were declared on the sick benefit of the Lodge. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £362 2s were passed.
