THE GUARANTEE SYSTEM. MR F. C. DANIELL’S MOTION. (“Times-Age” Special.) Al the meeting of the Wairarapa Power Board yesterday afternoon the engineer was given authority lo shut down the plant in March to enable cleaning to be carried out. Accounts amounting to £17,386 Gs Gd were passed for payment. Mr Daniell moved in effect that a complete survey of the whole district be undertaken with a view to doing away with the guarantee system. Mr C. R. Holmes seconded pro forma. Considerable discussion ensued, and finallj 7 Mr Daniell withdrew his motion on the understanding that the question be gone into by himself, and the Secret-ary-manager, and then discussed at the next monthly meeting. Mr C. R. Holmes brought up the question of a reduction of cost of electricity. He was informed by the chairman that the Secretary-manager had the matter in hand, and that a reduction will probably be brought about before many months. The secretary-manager mentioned that up to the time of the fire at the moat works, the power consumed there was a record. Members of the Board staled that had it not been for the good work of the Mas.terton and Carterton fire brigades, there probably would not have been power used at the works for some considerable time.
