POWER BOARD
LOAN PROPOSED FOR FURTHER EXTENSIONS. TINUI & LANGDALE AREA. (“Times-Age" Special.) At the meeting of the Wairarapa Power Board today those present were: Messrs A. Campbell Pearce (chairman), S. Dalgleish, W. A. Tate, M. B. Tate. C. R. Holmes. H. P. Hugo, F. C. Daniell and J. W. Colquhoiin. It was decided that application be made Io the local Government Loans Board for authority to raise a loan of £20.000 to provide for reticulation of ihe Taucru. Tinui mid Langdale districts, the loan to be for a period of 26 years, interest to bo at 31 per cent. A letter was received from the Public Works Department regarding the taking over of the switchgear in the control of the main sub-station. It was decided to leave the matter with the secretary-manager, with power to act. The board agreed m carry out lighting work on tin- Park Oval for the iviasterton Bi aulifying Society at halTcost. The sociely and ihe Y.M.C.A., it was. stated, intended to hold a carnival there in March.
