ROAD ACCIDENT
ARMY TRUCK GOES OVER BANK. DRIVER AND PASSENGER INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.i TAIHAPE, This Day. The second accident in three months in which an artillery truck has been involved occured six miles from Taihape last evening. The truck was returning to Waiouru Camp when a leak developed in the rear tyre. The driver decided to turn back for repairs, when the truck left the road, crashing thirty feet down a bank. The driver. Sergeant H. Gillespie, of 25 Duncan Street, Wanganui East, received concussion, and was admitted to the Taihapc Hospital and his companion. Private W. T. Collcrton, of Taihape, sustained slight injuries to his back, but was able to return home. Fortunately there were no othe’- passengers or the consequences perhaps, might have been more serious. The truck was badly damaged. Inquiries made this morning disclose that Sergeant Gillespie's condition is satisfactory.
