It is announced that the United States is stationing additional military representatives in the Latin American Republics to assist the military colleges as part of a determined attempt to offset the penetration of the totalitarian States. Within a few months the United States expects to have 29,army officers thus assigned besides the regular naval attaches and missions. It is also announced that the three newest cruisers are making courtesy calls at the principal South American ports. Officials denied that this step was linked with Signor Mussolini’s recent recall of the Italian cruisers from a similar courtesy call.
