KEEP FIT WEEK
PROCESSION IN MASTERTON ON SATURDAY PHYSICAL FITNESS CAMPAIGN GATHERING IN THE PARK. The Physical Fitness Campaign will open in Masterton on Saturday with a procession, followed by a display in the Park. Complete arrangements have been made and the procession promises to be wfell worth seeing. Those taking, part in the procession arc to assemble at 1.15 p.m. at Wagg’j parking area, and the procession is to move off promptly at 1.30 p.m.. the route being along Queen Street, and via Park Street to the Park, into the Park by the main gates, and to the right round the Oval. The procession will come to a halt in front of the •land. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, will give a short address, after which, those wishing to return to their own clubs for play may do so. The afternoon programme in the park will include exhibition baseball, gymnastics, folk dancing, band music, etc. The suggested order of the procession is Masterton Municipal Band, Territorials, various ■ports clubs, Legion of Frontiersmen, Wairarapa College Pipe Band, Waira--apa College Cadets, Y.M.C.A. gymnasic squad, Central School band, school children, Fire Brigade. Representatives of all sports clubs, etc, are to be dressed in their own particular sports attire, bat or ball to be carried, or as the case may be. and banners will be carried. In order tn nake the procession as interesting as possible, those participating have designed attractive and original banners, inc! are wearing their club attire. One if the objects of the procession is to nduce those members of the public who do not take part in sport to join me or more club.
The following organisations and clubs have been asked to take part in he procession: Amateur athletics, ■swimming, wrestling, tennis, hockey, bowling, golf, physical culture, schools, nusic, young farmers, cricket, interrouse, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, badminion, polo, aero, model aero, ping ccng, baseball, St John Ambulance, ?lunket Society. Legion of Frontiersmen, Fire Board, fencing, basketball, croquet, cycling, harriers, tramping.'

Iveson to play in the ‘Old Timers” cricket match on the Park Oval on Tuesday next, February 21, commencing at 4 p.m., the game being played in ’ connection with the "Keep Fit Week”; — Mr T. Wilson’s team: G. D. Wilson (captain), L. H. Smart (Carterton), C. C. Marsack. C. Welch, A. Patrick, A. Styles, J. O’Leary, F. Phillips, P. Smith, E. Hodder, G. Lawton, H. M. B, Trapp (Carterton), K. Welch. The umpires will be Messrs Charlie Perry and J. A. Betts.
