MARIE NEY

SECOND FILM PART. A film in the making by British Independent Producers, is based on Daphne du Maurier's Cornish dory “Jamaica Inn.” Charles Laughton plays the lead, with Marie Ney (the New Zealand actress) in the part of Patience, the bully’s wife. The story is a very exciting one, but a good deal of the brutality in the book has been eliminated. Laughton's part has two characters amalgamated, and J. E. Priestley has written the script for him. “Jamaica Inn" should bo finished by March. This will be Miss Ney's second film part. Her first, a few years ago, was in "The Wandering Jew.”
