BOWLING TROPHY LOST. (“Times-Age” Special.) In a weekend competition for the Kean Trophy at Lyall Bay, the Featherston Club lost the trophy by a margin of 5 points to the Lyall Bay Club. Both clubs had an equal number of wins for games. The Park (Masterton) Club was also in the competition. The following are the scores: — First round: Allport, Paton, Marshall, Sherwood (s) Lyall Bay, beat Nancarrow, Dagg, Brown, Thompson (s) Park, 26/21. Parker, Cooke, Barker, McLean (s) Lyall Bay, beat Braggins, Burke, Staniforth, Bell (s) Park, 22/16. Frederick, Marshall, Kean, Noad (s) Lyall Bay, beat Lipinski, Card, James, Rolls(s) Featherston, 26/12. Mawley, Gatehouse, Dustin, Raven (s) Lyall Bay, lost to Crawford, J. Higgison, Smith (s) Featherston, 19/29. Wallace, Butler, Jenkins, Shearer (s) Park, beat Robinson, Fuge, Anderson, Bloxam (s) Featherston, 26/14. Wiltshire, Osborne, Carr, Ewington (s) Park, lost to Rowles, Hyland, O’Neale, W. Higgison (s) Featherston, 17/28. Second round: Sherwood beat Bloxam, 21/14; McLean lost to W. Higgison, 27/17; Noad beat Shearer, 23/19; Raven lost to Wiltshire, 23/27; Thompson beat Rolls, 34/21; Ewington lost to Smith, 20/21. Personal Items. Miss Kathleen Clapshaw, of the Dannevirke nursing staff, is paying a short visit to her parents. Mr Russell Hall is visiting Mrs T. M. Harvey, Mangatete. A quiet wedding took place in the Presbyterian Church, Featherston, on Saturday morning, when Pearl, daughter of Mrs T. Oliver, of Carterton, was married to Clarence Leslie John, son of Mr and Mrs F. H. Morgan, Wellington. The Rev. R. S. Keenan officiated. Euchre Party and Dance. There was a good attendance at the euchre party and dance held at Kahutara on Saturday night. The winners in the euchre tournament were: —Ladies: Miss L. Matinga, 1; Mrs Riki, 2. Men: Mr J. Thompson, 1; Mr Jepson, 2. The Lucky Spot waltz was won by Mr J. Lundon and Miss N. Harvey. Croquet Gathering. On Saturday the members of the Haunui Club entertained the honorary members at a most enjoyable gathering. Competitions were won by Mrs Lowell (hurry scurry) and Miss Card (golf). Mesdames Hood, Rea, Charles and Edwards won the indoor competitions.
