AT THE SHOW

TRADE EXHIBITS MANY VARIED DISPLAYS. . EVERYTHING FOR THE FARM; Early this morning the trad'e exhibits were being arranged. Motor-cars, farm implements, stock foods —everything for the farm or the farmer seemed to be on display. The following displays 1 were included in the trade section. J. C. EWINGTON & CO. The famous Hassey-Harris group of farm machinery units were displayed. Particular interest was centred on a high-speed tractor powered with an enormous high-compression petrol motor. Diesel-engined tractors and general farm machinery were also displayed. LEVIN AND CO. The machinery section included a specially arranged display of a C.U.B. milking plant, one of the most modern machine milkers manufactured in New Zealand. The Dunedin-made Reid and Gray implement were prominently exhibited together with Lister separators, Lister pumps and a Horwood Broadcaster mounted on a truck. WAIRARAPA SEED CO. The outstanding feature of the stand was a comprehensive display of certified pasture and root seeds. Drenches. Dips and Glenwood Tea, completed one section of the display, while a feature was made of some Eclipse fencing including red-top steel posts, field gates, hand gates, sheep and pig netting. HARCOMBE MOTORS. New model New Zealand-assembled Vauxhall cars were on display at this stand. New to New Zealand, although already strqngly established as a favourite in England, was the Vauxhall 12, the latest addition to the Vauxhall ranks, complete with the famous Vauxhall independent front wheel springing. A Vauxhall 10 and a 14 h.p. were also displayed. 'I FAGAN MOTORS. Here stood the famous LincolnZephyr. a mighty giant surrounded by a collection of the popular Ford cars including De Luxe and Standard V 8 models, the favourite “Ten” and the “Eight.” There was also a V 8 Coupe Light Delivery, a utility vehicle particularly suitable for farm work. H. J. JONES & CO. A large, sleek Packard occupied pride of place among the cars on the stand. Beautiful in appearance, mighty in power, and luxurious in appointment, the Packard was the largest and most expensive car in the Show. Neighbours on the stand were a number of the popular Morris cars, 8, 10 and 12 h.p., with a powerful Hudson. Of special interest to farmers were some Morris-Commercial trucks and two Alles-Chalmers tractors which attracted attention as they turned about in their own lengths. T. WAGG & CO., LTD. The new Buick and Chevrolet models took pride of place on this stand. With new body lines and front-end designs they typified the latest in motorcar design. Also on the stand were two German Opel cars, light but sturdily built and interesting to examine. W.F.C.A. LTD. The car section -.displayed a range of the famous Austin and Dodge cars from the übiquitous "Seven” to the luxurious and powerful Dodge. Two Tanner-built caravans were attractive. The 16ft. standard model is described elsewhere in this issue but the De Luxe model was probably of more interest to visitors to the stand. In principle it was similar to the other model but was fitted with hot and cold water supply. a heating stove, a shower-bath and lavatory. MIDLAND GARAGE. Displayed here was a range of the Chrysler and Hillman cars. A new model Hillman Minx rubbed shoulders with an attractive Hillman “14" while the American style was well-typified in a Chrysler De Luxe and a Plymouth De Luxe. A Commer light delivery truck completed the exhibit. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER. Associated with the F.C.D.C., the International Harvester Co. made a brave showing with tractors and farm machinery. Both International and MasseyHarris tractors were shown and a full range of cultivators, ploughs, hay rakes, separators, etc., completed the exhibit.
