The track was fast and the weather fine for the first day of the Auckland Trotting Club's February meeting. The attendance was large. The totalisator handled £36,941 against £21.027 10s, last year, an increase of £15,913 10s. Van Derby in a paced attempt on the Australian and New Zealand glass track record for one mile went 2.0 2-5. the half mile in 1.0 3-5, breaking his own record by 4-ssec.
