WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT ALFREDTON.

(“Times-Age” Special.)

At the Alfredton Women’s Institute monthly meeting there was a good attendance. Mrs Hull presided. Arrangements were made for the forthcoming flower show which is to be held in the Alfredton Hall on Saturday afternoon. Nominations were received for officers for the ensuing year.

A pretty posy was presented to Mrs Wells, who is leaving the district. Competition for best bloom resulted: —Mrs Harman (pure white gladioli), 1; Mrs A. Napier (amarylis lily) 2; Mrs G. Napier (petunia) 3. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs J. Spring. Mrs Horton and Mrs Wells.

A pleasant gathering ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
