CAUGHT IN ACT
INTRUDER IN COUNTRY STORE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, February 8. The resource displayed by the' proprietor of a store in Sentry Hill and the quick response of the police in Waitara resulted in the speedy capture of an intruder in the act of burgling the store. Roused by his assistant just before midnight, Mr K. C. Jury found the dooi’ of his store forced open and heard a sound inside. He roused a railway employee, set a guard on the building, and called the police, this resulting in the arrest of Archibald Andrew Charles Scott, aged 53, labourer, who pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court, Waitara, today, to entering a store with intent to commit a crime. He was committed in custody to the Supreme Court for sentence.
