TRADE TREATY SIGNED.

By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) ROME, February 7.

An Italian-Soviet Treaty has been signed renewing commercial relations, which have been at a standstill since 1936. It is hoped that trade between the two countries will total ten millions sterling a year. The total value of Italy’s foreign trade has decreased by twelve per cent. The 1938 figures show that imports totalled £121,000,000 compared with £151,000,000 and exports £88,000,000, compared with £87,000,000. The adverse trade balance was reduced.
