DRUNKEN MOTORISTS
TWO MEN SENT TO GAOL.

AUCKLAND, February 6
In the Magistrates’ Court today,-be-fore Mr J. Morling, S.M., Hew George Rodney Goldingham, aged 34, salesman, was sentenced to one months’ imprisonment for having been intoxicated in charge of a car at 11 p.m. yesterday. His licence was cancelled for two years. The police stated that accused had been travelling fast without lights and a constable who attempted to stop him had to jump out of the way to avoid being knocked down. Accused had three similar previous convictions. Robert Thompson, aged 35, teamster, was sentenced to a fortnight’s jail and his licence was cancelled for two years for having been intoxicated in charge of a motor-cycle on Saturday night.

PALMERSTON N„ February G
Pleading guilty to a charge of having been in a state of intoxication on Saturday last while driving a car in Palmerston North. Cyril Thomas Arthur Sutton, carpenter's labourer, Ohakea. was convicted and fined £l2 10s and costs by Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court, Palmerston North, today. His licence was cancelled and he was prohibited from obtaining another for 18 months.
