INCREASED WORLD DEMAND. OTTAWA. The high quality of Canadian apples. together with modern refrigeration, has resulted in popularising this Canadian fruit throughout the world. Canadian exports of fresh apples in October reached a high total of the equivalent of 780.208 barrels of which the United Kingdom took 742,273 barrels. Bermuda, British Guinana and the British West Indies were extensive purchasers. Brail purchased larger quantities than ever before. British South Africa, Southern Rhodesia, Portuguese Africa, Egypt, the Straits Settlements, Hong Kong, China, New Zealand, Newfoundland and the Islands of St Pierre de Miquelon as well as a few countries in Continental Europe also purchased small quantiI ties.
