BETTINA BEATS FOX.

By technically knocking out Tiger Jack Fox in the ninth round, Melio Bettina, farm boy from Beacon won New York state recognition as world light heavyweight boxing champion. In a bout at Detroit Tony Galento (16st 121 b) knocked out Natie Brown in the fourth round and is now nearer to meeting Joe Louis.
