RIFLE SHOOTING
MASTERTON-OPAKI CLUB.
WIN FOR J. W. CURTIN
Delusive conditions prevailed for Saturday's shooting. Seemingly it was a day for high scoring but the reverse proved to be the case directly shooting started. Sighting was by no means easy and a choppy wind wanted careful watching as the flags did not correctly indicate the strength or the changes. The. mirage that was running could be more easily interpreted and was less troublesome than the wind. J. W. Curtin, showing a return to last season's form, headed the scores.
The scores were as follows: — 800 900 900
On Saturday next, the competition for the Tansey Shield will take place at Papawai. All members are eligible to participate, the eight leading scorers will constitute the team. Transport will leave the P.O. at 12.45 p.m.
