Mr S. Hatch, who spent the vacation in Masterton, has returned to the Training College at Christchurch.
Mr W. G. Sutton, formerly of Massey College, has been appointed de-puty-director of the new Imperial Bureau of Dairy Science which has been established in Shinfield, near Reading, England. Mr J. W. McLean, a former student of Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, and Canterbury University College, Christchurch, has been appointed veterinarian at Canterbury Agricultural College. The death occurred on Friday night in Waipawa of Mr Thomas Williams, a resident of the town for some 40 years. For practically the whole period of his residence in Waipawa he conducted a watchmaking and jeweller’s business. In his younger days Mr Williams was keenly interested in the volunteer movement, and was a member of the Napier Rifles. He was a good shot and was a regular competitor at the Trentham meeting. The death occurred on Saturday of Mr William Arthur Izard, aged 60, a well-known Wanganui lawyer whose association with the city amounted to a period of more than 30 years. He was born in Christchurch and was educated at Christ’s College and Wellington College before taking his LL.B, degree at Canterbury College. In 1905 he married Miss Sybil Montgomery, Makirikiri, and she and four children, Mr Noel Izard, Mrs D. W. Earle, Miss Suzanne Izard and Miss Grace Izard, are living in Wanganui.
