CROQUET TEAM. WINS FOR HAUNUI TEAM. (“Times-Aee" Special.) The Haunui Club were successful at Masterton in the “A” and intermediate buttons competitions, the scores being as follows (Haunui players mentioned first): —A grade: Miss Barry and Miss Nix beat Mesdames Polson and Bassett, 26/18. Intermediate: Mesdames Watson and Hankers beat Mesdames Weller and Wilkinson, 26/6. The trophy donated by Miss Eva Card to the Haunui Club, was won by Mrs Watson, Mrs Barry being runnerup. Personal Items. Mrs J. Cole and family are spending a holiday at Plimmerton. Miss Nancy Cade has returned from a visit to Lyall Bay. Mr and Mrs Frank Hood, Kahautara, have returned home from a motor tour of the North Island. Mr and Mrs D. C. Collins and family have returned from , a holiday spent at Paekakariki. Labour Party Picnic. The annual picnic of the Wairarapa Labour Party is to be held at the Tauherenikau Racecourse o Saturday. A full programme of sports has been arranged. The Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, will be amongst those present.
