INTER-HOUSE SPORTS
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS. COMBINED WITH DRILL DISPLAY. The following events will be held on Saturday, March 4, on the Park Oval in conjunction with the Inter-House Girls’ Drill competition organised by the Wairarapa Inter-House Association. The sports will commence at 1.15 p.m. MEN’S & BOYS’ EVENTS. Messenger boys' 100yds flat handicap. Men's 100yds flat, Inter-House Championship. Men’s 440yds flat, Inter-House Championship. Men’s 220yds flat, Inter-House Championship. Men’s Sack Race, 50yds. and Managei's’ Race (over 45 years), handicap. Men’s Relay Race, Inter-House Championship (teams of four, 220yds each runner).
Inter-trade Tug-of-War (7 men a side; no spikes in shoes or holes in ground). GIRLS’ EVENTS. 75yds flat handicap —for all girls not entered in championship events. 100yds flat, Inter-House Championship. Sack Race, 50yds. Cycle Race, 440yds.—Cycle used must be of normal type, no racing machine allowed.
Skipping Race, 50yds —not open to girls entered in championship events. Inter-House Relay Race —teams of four, each to run 110yds (small firms may amalgamate to form a team). All competitors must compete in their .firms’ registered colours. Entries for the programme of athletic events close with Mr Dick Costello, Sports Department, W.F.C.A., on February 24 at 8 p.m. Entries for the Girls’ Drill Competition close with the Secretary, Mr J. Woolf, c/p Macduff’s, on February 11. If time permits, post entries will be taken for a Slow Bicycle Race. Throwing the Basket Ball and other similar events.
